  41. INTRODUCTION

  43. Astro-World 2.0 is an Astrological program for Windows 3.1
  44. with print and screen evaluations for Radix-, Synastry- and
  45. Transit Horoscopes. Furthermore there is a text evaluation 
  46. of the birth-chart of about 25 pages. 6 different
  47. House-systems the most common being Placidus, Koch as well as 
  48. Equal-Houses.

  50. Astro-World is capable of the following features: 
  51. -  Radix-Horoscope on the screen - and as printed evaluation 
  52.    (25 pages.) 
  53. -  Synastrie-Horoscope at the moment without interpretation.
  54. -  Transite-Horoskop at the moment without interpretation.  
  55.  
  56. -  A data-base for persons and places is integrated. Both 
  57.    data-bases can be expanded ad lib. The maximum number of 
  58.    data-sets amounts to around about 2.1 billions
  59. -  The included data-base of places has about 2000 localities at 
  60.    your disposal. Further data-bases of towns and villages can 
  61.    be ordered, sorted after countries, (total 150'000 places 
  62.    worldwide)  
  63. -  Up to ten Horoscopes can be visualized simultaneously in different 
  64.    windows on the screen.
  65. -  Additional to the Horoscopes you can insert a legend, a short 
  66.    listing of the active Horoscope and an Aspectarium. 
  67. -  The size and the font can be adapted individually in each of 
  68.    the above mentioned windows. 
  69. -  An Aspect-toolbox allows you to switch particular aspects on and 
  70.    off quickly and interactive. The result is shown continually in 
  71.    the actual Horoscope-graphic. 
  72. -  For the evaluation you can choose any font, in any possible 
  73.    size. You can choose various colours for fonts, aspects as 
  74.    well as for each of the planets. So, if you have a colour-printer 
  75.    at your disposal, you can design your evaluations and graphics 
  76.    as colourful as you like. 
  77. -  If you dont like the shape of the chart, well change it. You 
  78.    can do that even including the width of the lines for the circle 
  79.    and aspects.

  82. This program is not only targeted at Astrologers, but also for 
  83. people, who want to deal with Astrology in a less serious way! 
  84. If you just want to print horoscopes for you and your friends. 
  85. this program might be it!

  87. On the contrary if you are an Astrologer, this program in the present 
  88. version may shurely leave some wishes unfullfilled. Indeed we have 
  89. made efforts to improve the present version in comparison to the 
  90. predecessing version 1.1 especially in professional respects. Yet 
  91. there might still be some items missing, for example Directions, 
  92. Progressions, a planetary clock, editable interpretation-data and 
  93. so on. We will try to develop this program in a way that both 
  94. groups of potential users become happier and happier as time goes 
  95. by, particularly in the Professional Version.

  98. Beginning of June 1993 I have finalised the German Version of 
  99. Astro-World 2.0. Then we have delivered the program to more 
  100. than a 100 registered users. 
  101.  
  102. As we had expected after a few days the first error-messages came
  103. in. By and large there were about 5 problems to solve. At the end 
  104. of June the problems were solved and presently there are about 400 
  105. satisfied customers working with the program in Germany, 
  106. Switzerland and Austria.
  107. Last errors which popped up were abolished for the English version.
  108. According to our judgement the program is now "clean".

  110. At present the program will also be translated into Spanish, 
  111. French, Italian, Greek, and Turkish.

  114. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  115. *******************
  116. The program was developed on an Intel-486-computer with a VGA-screen 
  117. and a Postscript-Laser-printer under Windows 3.1 and DOS 6.0. 
  118. Astro-World 2.0 will run on every (DOS) Computer equipped with 
  119. Windows 3.1 or higher. To obtain a clear graphic image, a VGAdisplay 
  120. of at least 14 inches is required.

  122. The best printout-quality will doubtlessly result of the use of a 
  123. (postscript) Laser-printer or HP-DeskJet 550C. According to my 
  124. own experiences, the resulting quality of matrix-printers is 
  125. highly depending on the abilities of the installed driver. Alas, 
  126. we had to find out that some drivers have problems with the 
  127. printing of the Horoscope-chart. Our advice would be to try 
  128. different fonts and sizes.

  131. INSTALLATION

  133. The whole Package will be delivered on two 3 1/2" Diskettes, 
  134. labled "Setup-Disk" and "Disk 2". Put the Setup Disk in Drive A,
  135. start the File-Manager and start the Program SETUP.EXE by 
  136. doubleckick.

  141. After the installation of the program you must add the 
  142. True-Type-Font ASTRO92. See Astro.HLP, chapter "Installation" for
  143. details.

  163. In case you encounter any Problems with the Program (especially 
  164. with the printout), please refer to the chapter 
  165. "Known Problems / Troubleshooting" in the Help-System. 
  166. It is a compendium of all questions, which have been asked of me 
  167. by dozens of users during the last twelve month. Thus,one might 
  168. say, it contains my whole treasury of knowledge about programtrouble 
  169. up to now. According to my experience, the probability to find a 
  170. solution here is very high!
